FAQs

Why choose Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are not only virtually invisible, but they are also removable. This means you can eat and drink what you want during treatment and maintain your regular brushing and flossing routine. Patients are instructed to wear 22 hours a day.  Additionally, there are no metal wires or brackets, which makes the aligners more comfortable than traditional braces. This often means less time spent in your doctor’s office getting adjustments. Invisalign treatment also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign treatment involves wearing each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to their final positions. Our team will monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments during check-up appointments, which typically occur every 8-12 weeks. Total treatment time varies from case to case, but most people complete treatment in nine to 18 months, wearing between 18 and 36 aligners.

“My son, who is three, loves Watertown Pediatric Dentistry! It is an amazing place, super kid-friendly, and an all-around great experience. The team is welcoming and does their job 100%!”
